چکیده
The subject of infections by members of the group of organisms intermediate to the typhoid bacillus and the typical colon bacillus of Escherich -the so-called paracolon bacilliis one of ever-increasing interest. The name "paracolon " was first applied to the group by Gilbert,' who described five types of paracolon bacilli. He found members of this group present in the intestinal canal of man and many animals. The first important cases t of infection by such organisms were described by Achard and Bensaude2 in I896, under the title of " Paratyphoid Infections." Their cases were as follows: Case L A case clinically resembling typhoid fever with an intercurrent relapse followed by a femoral phlebitis. During the course of the patient's illness the writers twice isolated from the urine, which had become purulent, a so-called paratyphoid bacillus which was identical with the one found in the second case. A blood culture made during the height of the fever proved negative. Aspiration of the spleen revealed staphylococci only. The stools contained only the usual forms of colon bacilli, typhoid bacilli being absent. The patient recovered after an illness lasting six weeks. During the course of the disease the authors obtained a positive serum reaction with the paratyphoid bacillus and with

Assessment Scientific Knowledge of Medical Interns about Four Common Infection Diseases in Fars
ABSTRACT The present study was designed to assess the knowledge of medical interns about four common infectious diseases; tuberculosis, brucellosis, typhoid fever and dysentery. This cross sectional study was done in Shiraz in 1999 and 2000. 211 interns properly filled our questionnaire which was prepared about tuberculosis. brucellosis, typhoid fever and bloody diarrhea for evaluation of thei...
متن کاملInfluence of awareness programs by media in the typhoid fever: a study based on mathematical modeling
In this paper, we propose and analyze a mathematical model describing the effect of awareness programs by public media on the prevalence of Typhoid fever. A threshold quantity $R_{0}$, similar to the basic reproduction number is derived. We investigate the biologically meaningful equilibrium points and their local stability analysis. The global stability analysis has been performed with respect...

Typhoid fever is an endemic disease in Iran and other developing countries. This disease has gradually become resistant to the first line of drugs, and because of this resistancy we have studied a new alternative drug (cefixime) on typhoid fever patients and compared it's effectiveness with chloramphenicol. For this purpose, by a randomized clinical trial in Emam Khomeini hospital between 1995-...
